ANKARA - Stating that the commission will decide on the visit and that the Republican People's Party (CHP) should also be included, Turkish Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Vice chair Feti Yıldız said: "I will go from our party."
Yildiz answered journalists' questions while heading to a meeting with Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş and coordinators from the political parties on the commission. Stating that the commission to be convened for the Imralı visit will make a positive decision, that a vote can and should be held, Yildiz also drew attention to the discussions about not holding a vote.
"Since we are going to the island, we will hold a vote to make a decision. But a qualified majority is not required, only a simple majority is required because it is not a bill," he said.
Yildiz also drew attention to the CHP's stance, saying, "We want them to participate, we want the decision to be made unanimously. It is Turkey's most established party. The CHP's contributions to solving a half-century-old problem are important to us. Of course, we will go even if they do not vote. One MP from each party can go. Four or five people can go. I will go from our party."
