ANKARA – Journalist Hüseyin Aykol has been started on different antibiotics after a new bacterium was detected in his lungs. A blood transfusion will also be administered.
The treatment of journalist Hüseyin Aykol—who was hospitalized after suffering a brain hemorrhage at his home in Ankara on October 14—continues at Sincan Training and Research Hospital. Following two surgeries and due to an infection that developed in his lungs, Aykol remains in the intensive care unit. It has been reported that a new bacterium has formed in his lungs.
Aykol’s doctors stated that they are continuing to use various antibiotics to reduce the infection, and that a blood transfusion will be administered due to his low blood values.
