AGIRÎ - While the process carried out in the context of the solution of the Kurdish issue continues, the government has started the construction of a military road with a cost of 375 million TL in the regions of Mount Gilî and Mount Tendürek under the name of "security road".

While the Peace and Democratic Society Process, which started with the call of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan on 27 February, continues, the government and the state continue to build fortresses and "security roads". While all segments of society expect the government and the state to take steps within the scope of the process, the insistence on "security" policies draws attention.

The government started the construction of the "Gilî Mountain (Ağrı Mountain) Security Road" in Agirî (Ağrı) in June, 5 months after the start of the process, as a continuation of "security" policies. The cost of the "security" road, which was put out to tender by the Agirî Provincial Special Provincial Administration Plan Project Investment and Construction Directorate, was determined as 194 million 164 thousand 32 TL. The "Gilî Mountain Security Road Project", which was tendered by two private company, is expected to be completed this year.

'SECURITY' ROAD ON TENDÜREK MOUNTAIN

Another "security road" project under construction in Agirî is the Tendürek Mountain. The project, which was tendered by Agirî Provincial Special Provincial Administration Plan Project Investment and Construction Directorate at a cost of 180 million 836 thousand 719 TL, was awarded to Solmaz Yapı Anonim Şirketi. The "security road" started in Kevrê Sipî region of Tendürek Mountain in Giyadîn (Diyadin) district of Agirî, passes through Girê Nîrya and reaches the military base area in Gola Sor plateau. This road is connected to the military base in Ebex (Çaldıran) district of Wan (Van). With a width of over 10 metres, iron barriers have been placed in the completed parts of the "security road", while asphalting work is planned to be carried out in the near future.

While it is learned that the "Tendürek Mountain Security Road" was planned in 2018 and built to a certain stage, the construction of this road was accelerated with the new tender held on 25 July.
