DEM Party Co-Chairs condemned the church attack

NEWS CENTER - DEM Party Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan condemned the attack on the service at Santa Maria Church.

 
An armed attack was carried out by 2 people wearing ski masks on the people in the Santa Maria Church in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul, while the Sunday service was being held. One person, who was shot in the head during the attack, died.
 
People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan condemned the attack with a post on their virtual media accounts.
 
CONDEMNATION FROM THE CO-CHAIRS
 
Hatimoğulları said: "I condemn the attack on the Santa Maria Church during Sunday mass. I offer my condolences to the citizen who died in the attack and my best wishes to those who were injured. The perpetrators of the attack, which is the result of hate policies, must be caught as soon as possible and all those responsible must be revealed. We will follow up. We will continue our struggle for peoples and beliefs to live together freely on the basis of equal citizenship."
 
Bakırhan said: "We condemn the armed attack on the Santa Maria Latin Catholic Church in Sarıyer, Istanbul. We express our condolences to our citizen who died and wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured. This attack is a result of discriminatory, alienating and hate speech. Everyone must stand against this racist attack. We call on you to stand by us and demand that those responsible be revealed."
