The Amed Health Platform held a Right to Life Vigil in front of the Women's Diseases, Obstetrics and Paediatrics Hospital in the Rêzan (Bağlar) district against the ongoing attacks and siege in Rojava. Numerous health and social service workers participated in the vigil.

 

During the action, banners reading "War is a public health problem, its cure is peace" were carried, and slogans such as "Bijî berxwedana Rojava (Long live the resistance of Rojava)" were chanted. 

 

Eylem Göcen, a member of the Health and Social Services Worker’s Union (SES), stated that electricity and water had been cut off in cities in Rojava, particularly Kobanê (Kobani) and Hesekê (Hasakah), leading to a severe public health crisis. Recalling that the number of children who have lost their lives due to hunger and cold has risen to six, Göcen called fort he immediate opening of a humanitarian and medical aid corridor. 

She emphasised that the investigations targeting health workers for their solidarity actions with the women of Rojava are unacceptable. Calls were made for the attacks to cease, for the Mürşitpınar Border Gate to be opened for humanitarian aid, and for international institutions to take urgent action. 

 

The vigil ended with a sit-in protest.
