ANKARA - Urgent expropriation decisions for energy projects in various provinces of Kurdistan have entered into force after being published in the Government Gazette.
Urgent expropriation decisions for energy projects in Kurdistan's Bedlîs (Bitlis), Erzirom (Erzurum), Şirnex (Şırnak) and Colemêrg (Hakkari) provinces were published in the Government Gazette. According to the published decisions, real estates in Bedlîs for the construction of Güroymak Wind Power Plant with Storage (RES) Electricity Generation Facility will be expropriated by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA). Immovable with block number 189 and parcel number 16 located in Ziyaretli Neighbourhood of Tortum district of Erzirom will be expropriated by EMRA for Kaletepe Regulator and Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP) and Auxiliary Source Solar Power Plant (SPP) Electricity Generation Facility project.
In addition, the immovable porperties required for the 154 kilovolt (kV) Uludere-Beytüşşebap-Hakkari Energi Transmission Line Project covering the provinces of Şirnex and Colemêrg will be taken by the General Directorate of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ) by the method of urgent expropriation.
These decisions were taken in order to strengthen the energy infrastructure and accelerate renewable energy projects.
