NEWS CENTER - Sepehr Amirzade, a medical student at Isfahan University and a musician, has been sentenced to death on charges of “moharebeh” (waging war against God) after being arrested for taking part in the January protests.

 

Sepehr Amirzade (23), a medical student at Isfahan University and a musician, has been held at Dastgerd Prison since he was arrested and detained on January 13 for taking part in protests in Iran.

 

According to reports, Amirzade was sentenced to death on charges of “waging war against God” (moharebeh). While the exact grounds for the death sentence remain unclear, he is reportedly accused of treating injured protesters.

 

The case has reportedly been referred to Iran’s Supreme Court for appeal.
