NEWS CENTER – İmralı Delegation member Pervin Buldan announced that Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan has prepared a declaration for Internationl Women’s Day, which will be read at March 8 rallies.
People’s Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party MP and İmralı Delegation member Pervin Buldan, speaking on JIN TV, announced that Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan will send a message on the occasion of International Women’s Day. She stated that Abdullah Öcalan prepared a declaration and that the declaration will be read at March 8 rallies.
Pervin Buldan said: “As a delegation we visited two new ministers regarding the process. With the Minister of Justice, we discussed the law that will be introduced; we learned that they have preparations and we also have preparations. We decided to come together and consult on the preparations before it goes to the commission. They said they viewed this positively. After the holiday, this law will go to the commission, and a report will be prepared in the commission, giving this issue a more concrete form. Our expectation is that once it reaches the Justice Commission, it will likely be planned to come to the General Assembly by the end of April or the beginning of May.”
She added: “We discussed the issue of trustees (Kayyum) with the Minister of Interior. We conveyed our expectations regarding the withdrawal of the appointed trustees and the will of the people. Of course, this is not a decision that a single minister can make; since it is a decision to be taken by the political will, we reminded them of their responsibilities and duties. We informed the public about the meetings held with both ministers and conveyed our expectations and views to them.”
WOMEN’S DECLARATION
She said: “We last met with Abdullah Öcalan on February 16. During that meeting we wanted to receive his views regarding March 8, but he said that he was in the process of making more extensive preparations and that he was preparing a declaration – a women’s declaration in the nature of a roadmap. He said he would deliver it before March 8. We expect this declaration to reach us in a way that it can be read at the rallies in two days.”
Pervin Buldan concluded: “We know that Abdullah Öcalan has been working very intensively on the women’s issue. In our meetings he had views and proposals regarding the struggle of women for equality and freedom, how to stand against domination over women, and how to take a stance in the face of femicides. We expect this to be a declaration that will serve as a roadmap for March 8. As soon as it reaches us, we will read this message at the rallies and in the squares. Abdullah Öcalan also celebrated March 8 of all women of the world. With this declaration he will give important messages.”
