RIHA – Police attacked a crowd attempting to march towards the Kobanê border. Resistance continues despite all attacks. 

 

Police attacked tens of thousands of people who gathered in the district of Pirsûs (Suruç) district of Riha (Urfa) under the leadership of the Democratic Institutions Platform and marched towards the Kobanê border, in response to attacks by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), ISIS and groups affiliated with Turkey against Rojava. 

 

Five people were detained in the attack. The names of those detained are as follows: Beritan Aksu, Muhsin Aydoğdu, Mehmet Aslan, Muhammed Kaplan, Recep Bali. Meanwhile, it was reported that many people were injured. 

 

Tens of thousands marching towards the Kobanê border from Cumhuriyet Square chanting slogans such as "Bijî berxwdana Rojava (Long live Resistance of Rojava)”, "Bijî Serok Apo (Long live Leader Apo)” and "Şehîd namirin (Martyrs never die)” continued their march despite the police attack. The crowd's resistance continues in the streets of Pirsûs.
