ISTANBUL - Democratic Regions Party (DBP) member Zinet Teymur, who will participate in the women's march from Amed (Diyarbakır) to Ankara from Istanbul, said: "Our clear goal is the physical freedom of the Leader (Abdullah Öcalan). Because society cannot be liberated without the liberation of the leadership."

The Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA) will march from Amed to Ankara on 1 October with the slogan "We Walk to Freedom with Hope". The route of the march, which will include participants from Kurdistan and Turkey, will be Curnê Reş (Hilvan) district of Riha (Urfa), Dîlok (Antep), Adana, Mersin, Konya and Ankara. The main demand of the march is the physical freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and legal steps for the democratic solution of the Kurdish question.

Speaking about the importance and purpose of the march to be held between 1-7 October, DBP member Zinet Teymur said: "Our goal is the physical freedom of the Leader. We are marching for the implementation of the right to hope immediately and for his physical freedom. Because society will not be liberated without the liberation of the Leader. The interlocutor of this process is him. We also continue this demand for the liberation of ill prisoners and many of our friends who have been executed and we are determined. We say 'the freedom of women is the freedom of society'. We will definitely succeed."

'THE COMMISSION SHOULD LISTEN TO ÖCALAN'

Zinet Teymur said that the democratic, ecological and women's libertarian paradigm has paved an important path, and drew attention to the importance of women becoming subjects in the process with this consciousness, adding: "Society as a whole will be liberated only through women's uprising. With 27 February, the leadership has taken all the steps to be taken. Now it is the other side's turn to take steps. In order to pave the way for democratic politics and law, the commission should meet directly with the interlocutor. If the leadership is the architect of this process, then their ideas and suggestions should be listened to in order for it to proceed in a healthy way."

'WE WALK WITH HOPE'

Zinet Teymur underlined that they will continue their struggle and protests until the requirements of the process are fulfilled and emphasised the importance of the Kurdish women's movement and the women's movement in Turkey to form a common line of struggle.

Zinet Teymur added: "The whole society needs to stand up and express their demands in order to advance this process. Because not only Kurdish society but the whole society needs freedom. Peace is the gain of all peoples. We have witnessed this war for years. Let's shout for peace in unison so that mothers will not cry and this suffering will end. We are marching from Amed to Ankara for the physical freedom of the leadership, the architect of the process, and we are hopeful. We expect the support of all women."
