MANİSA - As the forest fire in Gördes district entered its 3rd day, 2 neighborhoods in the region were evacuated.
The fire, which started in a forest area in Gördes district of Manisa on August 14, is being fought both from the air and on the ground. While the fire, which could not be extinguished for 3 days, spread rapidly with the effect of the wind, the citizens in 2 evacuated neighborhoods were moved to safe areas and provided shelter. Efforts to extinguish the fire continue both from the air and on the ground.
FIRE IN 3 DISTRICTS IN IZMIR
The fire that started yesterday evening in the forest area in Yamanlar Mountain Karatepe locality in Karşıyaka district of İzmir continues. 13 land vehicles, 3 water supply vehicles, 2 dozers and 3 ground teams of Izmir Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the area. As of the morning, the fire started to be intervened from the air. The teams continue to work to bring the flames under control. In Kemalpaşa district, teams continue to intervene in the fire that broke out in an olive grove.
In Çeşme district, a fire broke out in the non-forest area in Alaçatı Neighborhood Çakabey location for an as yet undetermined reason. Upon the notification, 6 airplanes, 1 helicopter, 5 land vehicles and 1 water supply vehicle of Izmir Regional Directorate of Forestry, which were directed to the region, started to intervene in the fire.
