Yeni Yaşam meets readers: We get our power from the people

ISTANBUL - Yeni Yaşam newspaper workers invited all their readers to the solidarity event they will hold on June 2. 
 
Yeni Yaşam newspaper, one of the maintainers of the Free Press tradition, will organize the "Yeni Yaşam meets readers on its 6th anniversary" event on June 2. The event will take place at Üsküdar Municipality Bağlarbaşı Congress and Culture Center. The event, which will start at 19.00 pm, will be free. Baran Bozyel, one of the artists of Mezopotamya Cultural Center (MKM), and musician Kasım Taşdoğan will take the stage at the event. 
 
SEBAHAT TUNCEL WILL ATTEND THE EVENT
 
Many people from different walks of life were invited to the event to be held for the purpose of meeting and solidarity with readers. Politician Sebahat Tuncel, who was sentenced and released at the decision hearing of the Kobanê Case, will also attend the event. Politician Gültan Kışanak, who was sentenced and released for the same case, is also expected to send a message to the event. 
 
Ercan Kaplan and Kader Dağ, workers of the newspaper, called all circles to the solidarity event.
 
ATTACKS ON FREE PRESS
 
Pointing out that the pressure on Free Press workers has increased recently, Ercan Kaplan said that the news made by journalists has been made the subject of accusations. Reminding that 9 Free Press workers were recently detained, Kaplan noted that the violations against the arrested journalists continue in prisons. Kaplan said: “Our friends are held in isolation, a standing count is imposed. There are a number of rights violations. When we look at why it is happening; They know what role the Free Press plays in society. That's why they are trying to keep it under constant pressure."

Emphasizing that they are the maintainers of the Free Press tradition, "We can only exist and grow with the people. That's why the people need to lend their shoulders against such attacks. This is not just our struggle. We are a part of the people" Kaplan said and Inviting all newspaper readers to the event.
Kaplan pointed out the importance of solidarity. Kaplan said: “Since we get our power from the people, we can only increase our power by integrating with the people. That's why our people need to attach importance to such nights and events."

Yeni Yaşam newspaper worker Kader Dağ stated that Free Press is the voice of the oppressed, women and all segments of society. Dağ said that solidarity is important and wanted everyone to participate in the night, and said: "We are waiting for all our people to the event that we will hold in Üsküdar on June 2."
