AMED - MKG announced its rights violations report for April. The report noted that 10 journalists were detained and the trial of 24 journalists İs ongoing.

Mezopotamya Women Journalists Association (MKG) announced the report it prepared regarding the rights violations against women journalists in April.

The report emphasizes that the Free Press, which defends the public's right to receive information and does not give up writing the truth, continues to be targeted and says, "The AKP government, which cannot digest the defeat in the March 31 local elections, continues its pressures and attacks on the Free Press after the election, as it did before the election. While the month of April passed with detention and arrest operations against journalists, journalists appeared before the judge this month, as every month, citing the news they made."

'STOP JUDGING JOURNALISM'

Reminding that 9 journalists were detained on April 23 within the scope of the investigation initiated in Istanbul, the report included the following statements: "3 detained journalists, including a woman, were accused of their news and arrested on the allegation of 'membership of a terrorist organisation'. The government, which tries to spread intimidation and fear by detaining and arresting journalists, is both usurping the public's right to receive information and violating the Constitution. As MKG, this is our call to the government; For the democratization of Turkey and the solution of issues, remove all obstacles to freedom of the press and expression, and stop judging journalism. Journalism is not a crime, it cannot be prosecuted."

According to the report, April violations against woman journalists are as follows:
